Water Treatment Plant Operator

The City of Storm Lake is seeking a dedicated Water Treatment Plant Operator to support the safe and efficient operation of our Water Treatment Plant. This position performs a variety of semi-skilled and skilled tasks in water treatment, plant maintenance, troubleshooting, calculations, and work involving the Water Treatment Plant, Wells, and Distribution System.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with daily operations of the Water Treatment Plant

• Perform maintenance and troubleshooting on equipment

• Complete operational calculations and documentation

• Support well operations and distribution system activities

• Receive hands-on training toward required certifications

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required

• Ability to obtain required Water Treatment certifications within 1 year

• CDL Class B (or higher) required (or ability to obtain)

• Preferred: Current Iowa Grade 1, 2, or 3 Water Treatment Operator License - Equivalent out-of-state certifications considereddescription, including contact information (phone,email, web URL, etc.)
