Distribution Analyst

GENERAL SUMMARY:Under the general direction of the Distribution Manager, performs a variety of administrative, planning, and technical duties in planning, coordinating, and analyzing the activities of the Distribution department; performs related work as required.Qualifications•Five years of experience reading and preparing plans and specifications for water distribution systems•Basic water modeling experience•Basic utility GPS skills•Must possess a valid driver's license with good driving record•This position requires the Driver remain insurable under the Company’s coverage•Possession of an Iowa DNR Grade II Water Distribution Operator's certificate or ability to obtain it within 24 months of appointment•Candidates must have an acceptable driving record to be selected•Basic communication skills•Basic team skills•Proficient human relations skills•Basic planning/organizing skills•Basic engineering plan reading skills•Basic math skills•Basic computer skills•Ability to read, write, communicate, and understand English•Occasionally handles up to 50 pounds and lifts 25 pounds•Occasionally stands, squats, bends over, reaches, and lifts above and below shoulder heights•The selected candidate must also be able to pass a preemployment drug screen and physical•All candidates who are offered a position must complete Section 1 of Form I-9 along with the required proof of their right to work in the United States and proof of their identity prior to starting employmentResponsibilities•About the Position: Under the supervision of the Distribution System Manager, prepares plans and specifications for review; performs field project management including survey, inspection, and documentation; and reviews plans for compliance with Iowa construction standards.•Works with engineers to develop projects that meet Xenia distribution system goals•Collects information on existing assets•Performs field project management•Supervises and conducts testing of water mains, commissions new installations and coordinates activities of contractors•Uses various survey equipment to create accurate design drawings or as-builts for review by assigned engineer•Coordinates construction activities on water main and facilities projects, including management of impact on Xenia Rural Water District (XRWD) operations and customers•Participates in the testing of water mains including flushing, pressure testing, chlorination, de-chlorination, and sampling for bacteria testing•Reviews construction plans submitted by other agencies or developers to verify compliance with XRWD requirements or to determine impact on existing XRWD facilities•Ensures distribution system changes are entered into GIS software•Reviews payments to contractors•Maintains record of material usage and completed work•Schedules, arranges, and performs inspections of XRWD distribution system assets•Performs other duties of similar nature•Often walks over uneven terrain•Occasionally works in confined spaces•Occasionally works at extensive heights•Occasionally works from ladders•Occasional exposure to adverse weather conditions•Occasional exposure to traffic and machine noiseSalary & Benefits:•$75,000 - $93,000 Salary Range•IPERS Retirement•Matching 457 Retirement Plan•100% Paid Health Insurance – Employee•80% Paid Health Insurance – Dependents•Dental & Vision Insurance •Paid Vacation and Sick benefits
