The Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) is seeking a Compliance Technician to join our team. Under the general direction of the WWTP Pretreatment Manager, completes compliance monitoring, site inspections and laboratory analysis as part of the Industrial Pretreatment and Fats, Oils and Grease (FOG) programs.
This position will work Monday-Friday 700am-330pm. Must be able to work outside normal working hours to include evenings and weekends. Our employees are required to reside within 30 miles of the City of Sioux City limits which extends to other adjoining states; Iowa, Nebraska and South Dakota.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Graduation from an accredited area college with an Associate's Degree in chemistry, biology, environmental science or math;or
- Thirty-five (35) semester hours from an accredited college or university or a recognized trade school with major course work in chemistry, biology, environmental science or math with a grade of "C" or above, college transcript must be submitted at time of application; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skill, and abilities.
PREFERRED:
- Two or more years of previous experience in a water, wastewater, storm water, laboratory or related environmental field.
Special Requirements:
- Must obtain an Iowa Grade 1 Wastewater System Certification within 24 months of date of hire.
- Must possess a valid driver's license throughout length of employment.
